Robert "Bird" Dick was born on march 11, 1954. He was a union truck driver with the teamster's local 107 in NJ for nearly 30 yrs. In August of 2013 he was diagnosed with the incurable disease ALS also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. He fought this disease every day until April 3, 2014 when he lost that battle. He was a chartered member and the 2nd Vice President of Amvets Riders Chapter 101 out of Delair, NJ. He loved to ride and loved his country even more. He did not serve in the military but he did respect and show support to every person that did. For now it is time for our brother Bird to spread those wings and soar and watch over all of us, till we meet again. With great love, your brothers from Chapter 101

Last ChapterThe AMVETS Riders would like to honor all those faithful Riders who have passed from this life to the next. Their voices and the the roar of their motorcycles have been stilled, but their names and faces are indelibly etched in our hearts and minds. Their passing has left a void that will never be filled, but we are grateful to have had the opportunity to serve and ride alongside them. We were blessed to know them, and we pray that God will bless us to be reunited when it is our time to take the final ride.
