February 22, 1951- April 28, 2014 Founding Member of Missouri Chapter 98 Department of Missouri President 2013-2014 Branch of Service: Navy Billy was taken from us far too soon, and he left a legacy that will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him. He served his country with honor in the Navy from July 1969-June 1973, receiving the National Defense and the Vietnam Service Medals. Billy loved God, his family, his friends, and the AMVETS organization. He was an active member of Missouri 98, starting the AMVETS Riders Chapter where he served as President for 3 years and diligently worked to help it grow and thrive. Billy became president of the Department of Missouri AMVETS Riders in 2013, and he was still serving as president when he passed away in 2014. Passionately dedicated to the AMVETS and AMVETS Riders, his dreams for the organization are still being realized today through the work of his Riders’ brothers and sisters. The over 200 motorcycles present at his memorial service are a testament to the fact that Billy was dearly loved by all. He may have departed from this life, but he will never be forgotten.
