I hope all is going well for all of you! Just a heads-up: I will be sending out a Master Membership of all your chapters to you within the next couple weeks. I need that updated and emailed back to me NLT March 15th. You can then drop the membership check in the mail to me; or you can use PayPal to send your money to National. I will be sending instructions with the Master List. Thank you for all you do! If you have any questions, please email them to me. Karen Cox Riders National Secretary 419-304-5310 Greetings to all,
It is that time of year where the Chapters should be collecting the annual dues and verifying the Membership rosters. The requirements set for times to have your Dues in are stated in the Unified By-Laws Section 5.8 and reads as below: 5.8 Chapters shall remit National dues and Department dues (if applicable) and a complete membership roster to their respective Riders Department no later than March 1st each year. If no Riders Department exists, National dues and roster shall be sent to the Riders’ National Secretary no later than March 1st each year. Departments shall collect their Chapters’ dues and rosters and send them to the Riders National Secretary no later than March 15th each year. Chapters with no Department remitting dues after due date will be assessed a $25.00 late fee. Departments shall fine Chapters if payment is late. Chapters failing to remit dues by April 1st shall be automatically suspended. Suspended Chapters may be reinstated, no later than June 1st by submitting a complete membership roster, dues, $25.00 late fee, and a $50.00 reinstatement fee. Chapters failing to reinstate by June 1st shall be subject to a vote of revocation by the Riders Delegates at the Riders Annual National Convention. Please read that section carefully as we do not enjoy having to suspend a Charter over something this routine. All the information for your Dues and Remittance can be found on our website: www.amvetsridersnational.org under the publications tab. Most of you have gone to the digital excel format and that seems to be working well so let’s keep it up. PLEASE verify all of your member’s phone numbers, e-mail addresses and parent organization membership numbers. Chapter 1st Vices should contact their respective Departments and if any Department 1st Vices or Chapters without a Department have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 678-463-2987/ hueycchief@yahoo.com or the National Secretary, Karen Cox at ridersns3.kcoc@yahoo.com / 319-382-2484. LRB/S, Tom McNamara National 1st Vice President AMVETS Riders Riders Nation,
First, I humbly thank you for the vote of confidence in electing me for the position of Riders National 1st Vice President. I am honored to be working with some of the most dedicated Riders in the country. Over the next few months, The Chapter and Department 1st Vices will start getting prepared for our upcoming Dues and remittance in January. With everybody’s help by paying your dues on time and making sure your contact information is correct, we can make this process as painless as possible to ensure that nobody gets missed on any rosters. The National Roster is what counts when it comes time for voting. If you are a Chapter or Department Officer, I challenge you to not just hold a position, but become the subject matter expert for your membership, they deserve the best. As we grow to nearly 3000 Riders nationwide, being able to fulfill the requirements of your position is critical to our success as the AMVETS Riders Nation. Lead by example. Within the next few months we will be rolling out a Riders Officers manual that puts in plain English what is required of each Officer position. We have many things planned for our future as we grow and I am asking that you give your full support, as I do, to the Riders National President George Cummings. We also have a new National 2nd Vice, John Reando, he has a lot of fresh and great Ideas that we will be looking at to keep the dues at the current level, but, we all have to participate in the National fund raisers to make that happen. I am privileged to work with ALL the National and Department Officers, Elected and Appointed, to make the AMVETS Riders the Premiere Veteran oriented motorcycle organization in the world, not just a program. Along with the other National Officers, I have an open door policy as long as you have used the Chain of Command. Members contact their Chapter Officers, Chapters contact their Department Officers, and Departments contact National Officers. If you are not satisfied with a timely response, give me a call. Our phone numbers and e-mails, along with a lot of other information, are on the National website, amvetsridersnational.org.
