Hello Riders Nation!
Please take a minute to read this and pass on accordingly. There is now a link on the National web page regarding IRS 990 tax filings. As stated in the unified CBL, it is each Chapter and Department individual responsibility to keep a current status and turn in a copy of said status with your revals each year. However, if you need help feel free to contact me. My contact information can be found on the website under officers. The information can be found under the publications tab under Elections and Revalidations: https://www.amvetsridersnational.org/publications.html All requirements are to be met and followed through yearly to avoid any more issues regarding IRS and Chapter/Dept status. Please take this seriously as it is an annual duty. Revals MUST be complete upon submission. Thanks for your attention to this matter. I hope this helps and avoids any further confusion. Larry “Godfather” Saad RNSAA Hello, Nation!!
It’s about Mid Year time, and there is work to be done. I will be getting a letter out regarding EVERY Chapter 990 tax status. Department Presidents, please insure your chapters and Dept are current. Those chapters without a Dept, please make sure you are current... Please go to National's web page, and find my email address and forward a copy of 990 to me. Please add your chapter# and Dept in the subject line, as to weed out spam. If you’re as computer illiterate as I am, and you’d rather mail a copy, that’s fine, too. Thanks in advance. Larry Saad, RNSAA AMVETS Riders and Supporters, I am honored to serve as National Riders Treasurer for the past 5½ years, we are almost half way through another year and Riders have a lot going on across the Nation as usual. First I would like to remind everyone to make sure to file their 990 for their Chapter and Department if you haven’t already. At National Riders we have a $250- death benefit, plus we have 3 $1,000- Scholarships and you can find the applications for both on the website under the publications tab. This year our new National Riders 2nd Vice John Reando has developed a great gun raffle to raise money for National Riders, PLEASE PARTICIPATE!! This fund raiser is what helps us from increasing dues and also allows us to have the Death Benefit and Scholarship funds, both of these funds were developed to give back to the Membership. At National we have worked very hard at cutting expenses in order to maintain these benefits and still be able to do everything else needed to support the Riders Organization and we need this fund raiser to succeed in order to balance our budget. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at Mid-Year in Florida. LRB, Dan Macdonald AMVETS Riders National Treasurer dnmacdonald@aol.com (319) 415-2822 ![]()
Filing your 990-EZ (e-Postcard) Q & A. This letter is for your records on filing your 990-EZ (e-Postcard) every year for your Riders Chapter. If you have any questions, please contact me and I will be more than happy to assist you. ![]()
This may be a lot of information to take in, but filing online only takes about 15 min. and can save your Chapter from filing a 1024 Form (19 Page Form!) and $400.00 in Reinstatement Fees if you are Revoked. Please share this information with your membership so that all members are educated and aware of this procedure as they move up the chairs within your Chapter.
Thank you, Don Clifton NRSAA |
