PARAGRAPH 1 AS READS:  with a Gold Rider’s Honorary Beret, and made him an honorary rider;
IS CORRECTED TO READ:  with a Gold Rider’s Commemorative Beret, and made him an honorary rider;
 
PARAGRAPH  2 AS READS: him with a Rider’s Honorary Black Beret and made him an honorary rider.
