Steps to Chartering a Chapter

1. You will need at least 5 riding members (supporters cannot be on the Charter)

2. You will need to download all the necessary forms

      Chapter Application
      Generic By-laws cover sheet
      Generic By-laws
      the Dues Remittance form

3. After you have completely filled in the application, please make sure you have all the appropriate signatures (Post Commander, AMVETS Department Commander or Executive Director). You do not need a letter from the Post Commander as his signature on the form is sufficient to show he is giving you permission to form a Chapter.

4. Make sure you have your own EIN # (Cannot use the Posts' EIN #) You need this on the application or it will hold up getting your charter.

5. Fill in the Dues Remittance Form and send in with your application as this is your roster. The dues must be paid within 30 days of receiving your charter.

6. Send in Copies of the Riders Applications with your paperwork.

9. Once she has it she will send it onto the Riders National 1st Vice for approval. Once approved as soon as she gets it back from the printers it will then be mailed to the Chapter President (Unless request to be sent to the Riders Department President) it is your responsibility than to make sure you get the AMVETS Department Commander and JA to sign the Charter before Displaying.
